GoalSir, September 22, 2024 – In a Premier League match held yesterday evening (Beijing time), Chelsea defeated West Ham 3-0, with Jackson scoring twice and also providing an assist. After witnessing the performance of the forward, former Chelsea defender Cahill expressed that the Blues may not need to look for a center forward in the next transfer window.

Cahill said, “He’s still a young player who is still learning. I liked his game today for many reasons, his shooting and the two goals he scored. Of course, I also liked the way he charged behind the opponents and sometimes dropped back to support. I think his performance was very versatile and excellent.”

“He seems very confident now, so I think the noise around him won’t bother him too much. What he needs is to speak with his abilities on the pitch, and so far, his stats look good.”

This summer, Chelsea was believed to be interested in several forwards, but ultimately they failed to sign Osimhen before the transfer window closed. When asked if Chelsea needed to enter the transfer market again to look for a center forward, Cahill replied, “I think it’s a long way, and obviously, the role of the number nine jersey is very important.”

“But Jackson’s performance is very outstanding, and the club also has other attacking options. You saw their bench today: they have choices in all attacking positions. So, I don’t think the club needs to enter the transfer market again. I think Jackson is fully capable of playing as number nine and continuing to improve. Staying healthy is key, but you can look at his stats, he’s doing a great job.”

When talking about the team’s overall performance, Cahill said, “I was impressed with the whole team’s performance today. Their defense was well-organized and very professional. I saw a team that worked together, and their performance was excellent, especially Jackson. He did a great job and scored two goals.”
